The success at London Stadium made it back-to-back victories in the Premier League, but also made it four consecutive successes without conceding a goal in that time too.
Ward-Prowse reflected on that recent run as Saints prepare for their next two away trips in the next week to Hapoel Be’er Sheva and Leicester City, saying that it’s something the squad will take confidence from.
“It’s all based from the clean sheets,” he added. “The lads at the back and Fraser [Forster] obviously want to keep clean sheets, but everyone has got to defend as a team and you can see the honesty of the lads up front to get back and to work and defend was great to see, and that rubbed off on everyone.
“The determination to keep the ball out of the back of the net is what’s giving us results now.”
Ward-Prowse benefited from the rotation in midfield to come off the bench and score against the Hammers, which he was happy to reap the rewards from.
He said: “The manager has got to rotate the team because of the volume of games so the fact that whoever he calls upon can stand up and do the job is obviously a positive sign.”
Saints head out to Israel on Wednesday and Ward-Prowse is targeting maximum points from the games against Hapoel and the return to England at Leicester on Sunday.
“They’re definitely winnable games as well,” he said. “We want to play anyone at the minute as we’re on a real good run, and like I said we can take confidence from today to take into Thursday.
“It’s going to be a tough trip but I think we can use that to push us on.”
